How To Make Your Party Weekend Get-Away the BEST EVER (4 Easy Tips!)
Sing-a-Longs, Carnival Rides, Cook-Outs, Fireworks, Starry Night Hikes, Swimming Holes, Vintage Guitars, Games on the Porch, Funnel Cake with Powder, Painted Hippie Bus Road Trip, Bonfires.
This weekend we had it all.
Wanna turn any get-together into something friends will always say…”DAMN, do you remember that weekend?”
Here’s my fun tips for living it up!
Wild Weekend Rule Number One: Bring Something FUN to Share to Create a Unique Experience for ALL.
I brought these along:
Three Matching Cheerleading Outfits
+ Three Wild Friends
= Smiles and Confusion Everywhere We Went.
No matter what:
We win.
Don’t mess with this team spirit!
Jessie and Larisa brought an inflatable boat that everyone got to share and take a ride down the secret river with.
Contessa and I fought against the current, pushing against a tree so we wouldn’t get sucked down the river.
It’s been a long time since I’ve laughed this hard.
I nearly peed in the raft.
Jeff took this photo rather than helping us.
Olgierd brought his guitar for sing-alongs (and he also encouraged me to lead my first campfire song of “Jolene” later that night).
Chelsea brought her homemade strawberry lemon pie.
Contessa brought the card game of “Set” that we played on the front porch.
Kat and Mason brought their awesome colorful bus to drive us all to the county fair in flair!
Wild Weekend Rule Number Two: Come Up with Fun Games to Play (That You Make Up Yourself).
Welcome to my new game, “Which Hippie Are You?”
I found this album at the local flea market and bought it because they have a song called:
“Good Night Nelda Grebe, The Telephone Company Has Cut Us Off”.
I mean…c’mon.
And I bought it because of this sweet ass picture inside:
So I made up a game where you picked who you would be in the photo -based on attitude, not on gender – and then everyone else had to guess who you were.
Which one are you?
And which one do you think I am?
Tell me in the comments and I’ll answer in tomorrow’s post.
We also played:
What Do You Think About….?
You pick whatever you want and ask the rest of the group:
What do you think about circus clowns? What do you think about roller coasters? What do you think about ghosts? What do you think about Britney Spears?
It can be anything.
Guaranteed you will find something out about your friends and what they think that you never knew before.
Hit Single
This is one that Contessa created on tour one year backstage that proved to be really awesome in drives toward the swimming hole.
One person keeps a beat.
One person just starts making up a song and sings a line or two and
throws it to the next person – they then pick it up and add the next line or two and throws it to the next person.
We made a rousing song called “On the Way Down to the Deep Dark River” that I am so pissed didn’t get recorded because it was awesome.
Wild Weekend Rule Number Three: Capture the Memories with Photos That Will Bring Back The Good Times When You Need ‘Em.
The “Band Photo”:
Make everyone looks in different directions.
Look serious.
Even the chihuahua is really good at this.
The “We’re Blurry, The Camera is in Focus” photo.
The “Bonding over Bonfire” photo.
Wild Weekend Rule Number Four: Say YES to Adventure. Always.
One of my favorite things this weekend was a last minute decision to say yes to a secret mountain adventure that my friend, Jeff presented me with.
The world is waiting for us to live in it.
Our lives are waiting to blossom and push and discover and explore.
The wildness always awaits…
Tell me about a memorable weekend for you. What happened that made it stick out in your mind?
